NFC West Bloodbath
After Kyler Murray’s sensational heroics to DeAndre Hopkins in the final seconds of the Cardinals win over the Bills, the NFC West became the biggest battleground in the league. The L.A. Rams beat Seattle 23-16, which was far more convincing than the score would suggest. Now, all three teams are tied for the lead in the division with a record of 6-3. Both Arizona and Los Angeles seem to be trending up while the Seahawks appear to be fluttering of late.
No one knows how much home field advantage will matter in this awful COVID world and there are some possible scheduling quirks within this division. As the standings sit now, Arizona (No. 3 seed) would win the division but would be scheduled to face an NFC West rival in the Rams (No. 6). At this point, it would be surprising if there wasn’t an all-NFC West matchup in the playoffs.
The best part is there could be another shakeup in mere days as the Seahawks host the Cardinals on Thursday night.
Baltimore Ravens in Playoff Danger
Yes, it’s still too early. Yes, the Ravens are good enough that this could look like a silly headline in just a week or two. It has to be noted, though, that Baltimore is not sitting pretty like last season.
Following the loss to the Patriots in a severe rainstorm on Sunday Night Football, the Ravens are currently the last seed in the playoffs in the AFC. Remember, that means last season they would be out of the playoff picture as a seventh team was added in 2020. There are two 6-3 teams outside of the playoffs today (Browns and Titans). With that in mind, Week 11 brings an absolutely huge game for the Ravens when they host Tennessee this Sunday.
Final Notes
- Dear Chicago Bears offense,
No one likes you. You are incredibly boring. I never want to see you on national television ever again.
Love,
Ryan - Tampa Bay can not be written off or crowned every week, people. Let’s see how this plays out.
- The Packers, Saints, Dolphins, Browns, Raiders, and the aforementioned Bucs all earned nondescript yet important victories in Week 10
