On Sunday, October 24th, 2021 there was a football massacre across the United States of America. In total, the winning teams outscored the losers by a whopping 361-141 margin, a difference of 220 points. The most interesting game of the day involved the Detroit Lions. A tragedy, indeed.
Patrick Mahomes, the NFL’s most electrifying player in years, led an offensive attack which scored three points. Other’s taste may choose the Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson for that title. At home, the Ravens lost 41-17 to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The New England Patriots no longer have Tom Brady. They are suddenly a middling squad with almost no national pulse. Bill Belichick’s team entered Week 5 averaging just over 17 points per game and recently squeaked out a 3-point win over the Houston Texans, a contender for worst team in the NFL. This past Sunday, the Pats scored 54 points and won by 41.
The injury-riddled, 1-5 New York Giants somehow won an NFL game 25-3. Never forget how the G-Men rode the eyesore score of 5-3 nearly into the fourth quarter against the Carolina Panthers. The new-look Chicago Bears with an exciting rookie quarterback scored three points. Houston outdid the Bears, by putting up five whole points in their contest.
Let us never speak of this day again.
